Germania Mutual Aid Association was organized in 1896 in Perry, Texas under the leadership of Otto Rau, the first president. It was formed to provide protection for farm property. At that time insuring property in rural and small community areas was virtually impossible. The 31 founding members, including Rau, saw the need for dependable mutual insurance and committed to the principle that bearing one another’s burdens made them all stronger.
Germania has changed and adapted to meet the needs of our community. As read in our history, Germania originally began as an association that provided protection for farms but through the years we’ve expanded into multiple companies that provide all sorts of coverage and services for Texans.
